TETIANA LYSOVETS MODERATED THE FIRST TWO SESSIONS OF THE ХІ TAX FORUM

On 26 October, the fiscal fate of Ukraine was discussed at the fiscal “Olympia”. Well-known tax experts, influential representatives of the legislative and judicial branches of government met at the ХІ Tax Forum. The first two sessions of the event were moderated by Tetiana Lysovets.

In the first part of the forum, Tetiana had a conversation with Danylo Hetmantsev, head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy. Ms Tetiana and Mr Danylo discussed the latest “military” changes in tax legislation. Also, they agreed with the general expert opinion about the negative results in the work of the Bureau of Economic Security. Unfortunately, recently the activity of the BES has caused too many complaints and does not meet the expectations placed on it.

Having finished the “legislative” part of the forum, the partner of our law firm, at the next session of the event, continued communication with the judge of the Supreme Court of Ukraine Raisa Khanova.  Ms Raisa is the secretary of the judicial chamber for consideration of cases regarding taxes, fees and other mandatory payments of the Administrative Court of Cassation as part of the Supreme Court. While delivering her report, the respected representative of the judicial branch of government shared with the expert audience the existing judicial and tax practice of the Supreme Court.

Mrs Raisa also made an unexpected gift to the participants of the meeting – 44 decisions of the “tax” chamber of the Supreme Court of Ukraine, which justify one or another legal position of the court. The material is available in the format of a presentation, which can be obtained from the Association of Lawyers of Ukraine.
As the Senior Partner of our company aptly noted:

Annual Tax Forums constitute an irreplaceable information hub where tax lawyers exchange opinions and seek a common language in order to improve legal standards in Ukraine.
